"If one offers me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit, water, I will accept it."
- Bhagavad Gita as it is 9:26
For humanity to evolve spiritually I believe diet is essential. Yoga is so much more than just spending time on our mat. Transforming our daily lives to live a cleaner and kinder life both for ourselves and all animals became a huge "aha" moment for me back in 2011. We need to nourish ourselves and support ourselves in the best of holistic ways: mind, body & soul. People are usually astonished with what I choose not to allow into my body or blood stream. That includes all dyes, food coloring, toxins, nail polish, high fructose corn syrup, dairy, animals, and gluten to name a few. I won’t tell you it was an easy journey these past 10 years, but what journey is, that is truly worthwhile. The reason I chose to share this is because many people ask me how I live this way and how can I help them on THEIR journey. As I began to focus first on my digestive system and how I was reacting to these toxins, one by one I eliminated them....healing myself from the inside out. Little did I realize I was practicing Patanjali’s first Yama (things we must abstain from in order to lead a spiritual and ethical yogic life), Ahimsa or non harm. I haven’t looked back, choosing to fuel my body and care for my body with natural medicine and goodness enables my soul to be filled, practicing loving kindness towards myself and upon others. Everything we choose has ramifications. However, what I put in my body was something I could control. In the end, every one needs to choose what is best for their body and life, this is what has been best for me.
