January 2023 Astrology Forecast

Happy New Year!

The first month of the year January looks to be carrying with it some themes and topics from 2022. We don't always have Mercury the messenger planet in Retrograde at the beginning of a new year as well as Mars retrograding in Gemini ruled by Mercury. These two planets will station direct this month and could have unfinished business to tend to from last year. Uranus will also station direct this month, the planet of transformation, radical change, crisis, and freedom, supporting any changes required and finding newfound ways to grow and solve problems. Mars will finally station direct after a very unusually long time spent in retrograde in Gemini. This is one of the most significant astrological event we have all been waiting for. This energy will help with any plans or projects that felt stuck or stalled in the last couple of months. If there has been action and movement, it will feel like you are really on a roll now. Venus at the beginning of the month moves into Aquarius entering a more social time and eager to connect with others. This will be a great time to get out there and grow your network or join more groups. In the second part of the month, Venus will move into Pisces where she is exalted, this means she will be bringing extra sweetness and blessings. Our creative, romantic, and emotional natures will be heightened.

We have a Full Moon in its own sign of Cancer at 16 degrees at the beginning of the month on January 6th, which will bring up sentimental feelings, thinking of the past, as we reflect back on everything that has occurred in 2022. This energy is all about nurturing our inner child and reminding us of self-nourishment and soul replenishment. We may feel the need to be at home or to nest with those who we love and to feel into our heart center. This is a lovely lunation and with it being in connection with Mercury which is still in retrograde, will bring conversations forward to discuss further like deals, ideas, or talking things through that need a second take. This energy is supported for being innovative or making improvements in making changes that are needed. Look to see where Cancer is in your birth chart, this is where you will get a better understanding, a piece of wisdom, to see things more clearly.

On the 20th, the Sun will enter Aquarius. A New Moon in Aquarius (1 degree) will appear on January 21, another beautiful New Moon that is wonderful for action, growth, and expansion thanks to its aspect with Jupiter. This New Moon will encourage you to embrace your uniqueness and rebel against the status quo. The need to feel liberated and wanting more authenticity in your expression. Connecting to others will feel very much needed now, particularly your friendships, social circle, and communities. The ruler is Saturn which sits nicely with Venus in Aquarius making this energy a new start with relationships or collaborations that bring about a commitment. This is also the first new moon since Mars station direct, really amplifying the feeling of pushing forward and getting things started.

This month the planets are playing nice with each other. Use the first of the month to wrap things up, closing off as much as you can from 2022, and be ready for a fresh start and big push forward as 2023 begins as we move closer to the end of January.
