Macaroon Recipe

The following is something I make all year long. Knowing that more chocolate is consumed this time of year, this recipe is an alternative to traditional chocolate choices. In my world, every day is a chocolate day. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

3 cups dried, unsweetened Coconut Flakes

1-1/2 cups Cacao powder

1 cup Pure Maple Syrup

1/3 cup coconut butter (solid not liquid)

1 Tablespoon Vanilla

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions:

In a large bowl, combine all ingredients and stir well. Spoon rounds of dough using a small scoop, hands, or big tablespoon onto a dehydrator sheet or baking sheet if you are using an oven. Set the dehydrator or oven to 115 degrees for 12 - 24 hours or until crisp on the outside and nice and chewy on the inside. If using an oven, set it at the lowest temperature and reduce baking time.
