Nikki Banas Poem on Becoming a Witness

Contributed by Jenn Cheatle

Every now and again - and more often than not - go outside to sit in the grass or the sand or the dirt to just sit. To just be and breathe. To see how the earth moves. To watch a little bird. To watch a ladybug. To witness a falling leaf and the gentle breeze. Every now and again, let yourself witness how the beautiful earth lives. Without worry of the past. Without worry of the present. It just moves. It all just grows and moves through the seasons, just one breath at a time. Just one moment at a time…And the more you allow yourself to witness how our greatest teacher lives, the more you will see too, that all there is to living, is to live just one breath at a time.
