The Art of Shamanic Journey

Updated: Apr 22, 2021

Developing Power and Healing through the Art of the Shamanic Journey

Shamanic Journeying is an ancient art used by indigenous people for centuries. Shamans used it as a tool to gain access to other dimensions for the purpose of healing and to gain guidance. A shaman is a person who lives and practices techniques to “see” beyond our physical reality. They work for the greater good of others as well as the community and the world.

I was taught that a true shaman does not call themselves one. It is bestowed by others through the positive effects of the work that is achieved.

To be a shaman means to be a bridge to the realities not seen with the naked eye. A shaman has the experience and ability to read energy and intuit information from other dimensions. They understand that words are the command of the universe and that his/her word is law, based on universal knowledge. They work in tandem with relationships they have built in the non-physical universe. These relationships serve as a resource of information to assist them in restoring wholeness.

The techniques they use restore on all levels our inner world as well as the outer. Our thoughts and creations spill out into our physical world affecting our energy. They know ways to correct these energies and restore the flow of energy. Techniques are retrieved, interdimensionally through what has been called a shamanic journey.

Journeying has been popularized these past years as awareness has grown and the understanding that dimensional reality can be accessed with the proper guidance and tools. Many of us know that we have the power to heal ourselves and want to discover how to achieve that in daily living.

The only requirement to learning these time-tested techniques is the desire to awaken your innate ability to heal, as well as to create a deeper understanding to our universal connection.

The universe speaks in metaphors and symbolism. Shamans understand through practice and experience how to translate symbolism into wisdom, and skills for daily living.

Your outer life is a map to guide you toward the next step. With practice and discipline these ancient techniques can assist you in developing your personal power and help you to “see” that your life was created by you and that you have the power to re-create it.

In Shamanism it is believed that every thing is interconnected. On television we see shows about mediums to help us remember that life does not end here. Do we believe it? I think we are beginning to understand the interconnection between heaven and earth. Not only are we interconnected in this realm, we are connected to other realms as well. We have the choice to align our energy to a power greater than our self.

There is a divine plan, one that brings the principles of heaven to earth and you have the power and choice to be a part of that plan. There is a blueprint of our evolution and our divine participation in this plan and a hierarchy that governs this dimension. This keeps order in the universe.

We are starting to acknowledge openly that we believe, collectively in angels and other worldly beings and if you really look, you’ll see the evidence everywhere.

Journeying is a powerful technique to use for the purpose of communication, guidance problem solving and healing; and that is a small part of what can be accomplished in dimensional reality.

We are all born with spirit guides, loving compassionate beings that are here when we are open. Journeying is a powerful way of developing our relationship with them and is one method of accessing entry into the realm of spirit, as been practiced in ancient cultures.

In order for us to be part of the collective voice we elect to release what keeps us mesmerized by the illusion of the fear that we are alone. Each step taken towards our Creator brings us quickly back to our wholeness. Wholeness brings connection to the collective. When we understand the divine nature of our spirit partners and the value of our work together, we bring heaven to earth.

Increasing our connection is a profound and simple way of expressing our individualized creative nature, and to work in harmony with all life form. We are here to integrate ourselves on all levels and achieve our highest purpose.

All who have an open heart and a willingness to learn the steps may attain this altered state reality. Guided imagery, drumming and other sound instruments are one way of attaining a trance state which allow us to enter into the dimension where spirit beings reside.

The one truth that stands out for me in the practice of journeying is the only thing that is real is what is inside of me. The world of form can be like trickery. You have to see through the illusion of it and trust the signs of the core of what it serves to teach.
